Australian mining sector congratulates new Ministers

The MCA congratulates all new Ministers appointed in today’s reshuffle.

In particular, the appointment of the Hon Dan Tehan MP as Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment will provide further impetus to the Morrison Government’s efforts to boost trade and defend free trade at a crucial time for Australia and the region.

Australians have been huge beneficiaries from free trade and trade agreements, with decades of economic growth and job creation the direct result of efforts by our innovative exporters of minerals, agriculture and services and Australia’s support for a rules-based system.

As a regional MP, Mr Tehan’s insights and experience will strengthen Australia’s ability to surmount the many challenges facing our nation as the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The work of the Hon Alan Tudge MP as Minister for Education and Youth will be fundamental to creating and sustaining a future minerals workforce and attracting the talent Australia needs to meet growing future demand for our world-class commodities.

The new Assistant Minister to the Attorney-General, Senator Amanda Stoker, is a long-term supporter of mining, regional communities and reforms to workplace relations and the economy to support productivity and profitability.

The MCA looks forward to continuing to work with new and continuing Ministers in its advocacy for a stronger Australia.
