Vale Greig Gailey

On behalf of the MCA and its members, I would like to extend my condolences to family and friends of Greig Gailey.

Mr Gailey served as Chairman of the Minerals Council of Australia from 2003 to 2005 and was also a significant contributor to a number of other industry associations.

Among his many achievements as the MCA Chairman, Mr Gailey formally adopted Enduring Value – the Australian Minerals Industry Framework for Sustainable Development in 2004. His commitment to sustainability has since set the mining industry on a journey of continuous improvement and global leadership.

Mr Gailey had a long and successful career in the resources industry in Australia and overseas with companies including British Petroleum Company, Fletcher Challenge Energy and Zinifex Limited.

He also held numerous company board positions throughout his impressive career.
