Northern Australia’s Emergency Response teams ready to compete in Darwin

Northern Australia’s Emergency Response teams are ready to compete in the 2019 Northern Australian Emergency Response Competition (NAERC) in Darwin on Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June.

NAERC 2019 brings together Emergency Response Teams from across Queensland and the Northern Territory to test their training and response capabilities for real-life emergency events.

MCA NT and host partners Kirkland Lake Gold, Charles Darwin University and ERGT are delighted to be supporters of this event and encourage all Northern Territorians and visitors to join this unique event at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus.

Entry to the competition will be free for the general public all weekend.

This year’s theme is ‘Integrity and Team Work’, emphasising the importance of these factors in managing and responding to emergency situations

Ten teams will be given a ‘call to response’ to attend realistic simulations in road accident rescue, first aid, breathing apparatus skills, hazardous materials, rescue from heights and firefighting.

Competing teams will be showing their best at regular intervals each day – 7:30am, 9:15am, 11:00 am, 1:15 pm and 3:00pm – where competitors will be under real pressure to perform.

MCA NT and host partners look forward to showcasing the exceptional work and skills of our emergency responders, who play a critical role in saving lives.
